Senihati Art and Soul Tours

Long time friends, Barry, Marc and Dudug have a passion for the culture and art of beautiful Bali. After a lifetime as art teachers and artists, travelling to Bali as guides with touring groups, as well as with family and friends, they have created a tour that will immerse you in the complex and intriguing Balinese culture. So often the quiet beauty of our closest neighbour is tainted by the stories associated with the busy and manic streets around the coastal areas and larger cities and towns. But there is so very much more to see and experience. This tour is about opening your eyes and heart to the island, and doing something for yourself. Your soul. Your personal wellbeing. You deserve it!
You will be taken high up into the mountains to the historic town of Ubud. Since the 1960's, artists from across the globe have travelled to this hidden gem to immerse themselves in the art and culture of'Indonesia's Artistic Centre'.
With Dudug as our cultural liaison, you will base yourself at the stunning Hotel Tjamphuan, just outside of Ubud, and easy walking distance from the town centre and its many restaurants and shops. Your final night is spent in the hills of Sayan at the Hotel Arya Arkananta, a Resort Spa offering something very special for the soul. Over many years we have worked alongside local artisans and providers, to create a program that exposes participants to a unique group of activities that encompass the essential arts and crafts of Bali.
You will gain first hand insight into the life of the Balinese people; their treasured family life, culture and religion. Many of the activities are based in the homes of the artists themselves, well off the beaten tourist track. There is no substitute for learning from the locals, and enjoying their warm and welcoming company.
Barry, Marc and Dudug are always on hand to ensure that you are supported and feel comfortable with the activities and produce something very special to be taken home and treasured.
We know Bali. We understand the people, art, food and culture. You will be taken to stunning local restaurants that will provide a taste of the foods synonymous with the region. All restaurants have the highest hygiene standards, and can cater for special dietary requirements. You will have plenty of down time to sit back and take it all in. A chance to relax and recharge. Maybe treat yourself to one of Bali's famous massages or participate in a yoga session that is part of the program.
We understand that some people may find some of the activities a little physically challenging or not to their liking. That's fine. We aim to be flexible. We can organise a driver to take you elsewhere, at a small cost.
Our aim is to make the entire experience effortless, safe and memorable. Something special that will stay with you forever.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I have a single room if travelling on my own?
Yes. Single rooms at both hotels are available at an extra cost. We will inform you of the extra cost at the time of booking.
-
Can I twin share if travelling on my own?
Yes you can share a room if travelling on your own but only if there is another in the group opting to do so. If there is no other person wanting to share you will need to opt for a single room at an additional cost.
-
What if I don't wish to participate in activity for personal reasons?
That is perfectly fine. However you will not receive a refund for the cost of the activity as we always pay the local groups the full price. If you would prefer to do something else at the time of the activity we can assist you and organise a driver at a minimal cost to take you where you need to go.
-
Do I need to be artistic and have a minimum level of skills to come on the tour?
Absolutely not. We cater for the novice who has an interest right through to those with experience and a larger skill set. We will modify the activities to suit your abilities and ensure that you are successful and happy with your final product.
-
I am fussy about my food and have food allergies and preferences. Can this be catered for?
Everywhere that you eat is safe and of an outstanding quality. The venues readily cater for any needs and are more than happy to do so. Just be sure to let us know what you require.
-
How do I go about taking money and being safe?
We suggest taking cash and exchanging it for local currency. We will show you where to do this safely and assist you. A travel card is a very good option and is safer and more easily topped up if needed. We will help you to keep yourself and your belongings safe. Ubud is not like the seaside areas of Bali and far more chilled and safe in general.
-
I have heard about Bali Belly. It sounds awful. What happens if I get sick?
We are pedantic about hygeine and only go to trustworthy restaurants and venues. We encourage a common sense regime of cleaning your hands after handling money etc. and
ensuring that you only drink bottled water. In the unlikely event that you become unwell, we will be there to support and care for you and assist in getting you medical attention if required. There is a medical centre close by and hospitals are readily accessible. You must have travel insurance to participate in our tours. Please be sure to take out a Comprehensive Cover.
